Student Accommodation - Commercial

Originally an NCP car park. We developed a development to convert to Student Accommodation with a basement-level replacement car park. The development then merged with another development next door to create a 516-bedroom student development with commercial space and an art gallery. Planning was granted for the scheme and archaeological works commenced. However, due to funding, the development was not viable and the car park was redesigned and built.

- Appointed consultants and surveys required for planning including planning consultants, architects, M&E engineers, civil and structural engineers and archaeologists.
- Chaired and directed the design team to fulfil the requirements of the client, the planners and the strategy laid down by the surveys carried out.
- Managed the tendering of the archaeological works and managed the works on site which were extensive.
- Developed a strategy with the City Archaeologist, Structural Engineers and Planners to ensure archaeology was preserved while allowing the building to be constructed.
- Managed the tendering process and all information on student development.
- Once development became unfeasible had new car park was designed, achieved planning and constructed in a matter of weeks.
- Dealt with all party wall issued throughout the process.
